Aruba Sights

Aruba island – is a possession of the Netherlands, is part of the Lesser Antilles in the Caribbean. The first inhabitants of Aruba were Arawak Indians. After the discovery of the island in 1499 by the Spanish navigator Alonso de Ojeda, both Spaniards and Caribbean pirates claimed it. In 1636, the Dutch took possession of Aruba, and until 1863, one of the largest slave markets in America was located here. The descendants of slaves are the main population of Aruba. There are oil refineries, ship repair plants, and food enterprises operating in the country. But the main income of the island treasury comes from tourism. Winds contributed to the transformation of Aruba into a major center of sailing. The world windsurfing championship is regularly held here. The peculiarity of the island is sandy white beaches with spreading palm trees of amazing beauty, which stretched for 12 km along the entire southwestern coast of this paradise. Palm Beach

Palm Beach is located on the northwest coast of Aruba. The entire coast is a continuous strip of beaches stretching for many kilometers. The beach is well-deservedly popular with tourists due to its excellent location, perfectly white fine sand, huge palm trees and excellent infrastructure. There are luxurious hotel complexes on the beach. A large number of sunny days a year and the coolness of the sea breeze create optimal conditions for relaxation – the air temperature is about +29 C all year round, the water temperature here is +24-27 C.

Eagle Beach

Eagle Beach is one of the best in Aruba. It is located on the west coast of the island and is ideal for outdoor enthusiasts and is known as one of the best places on the island. The beach is located near the capital of the island, Oranjestad, so during your vacation you can always go to the capital if you want to join the entertainment of the city. Oranjestad

Everything here is imbued with Holland: the old mill, brought directly from Holland, and the buildings of colonial architecture with characteristic gabled roofs, and numerous bars and cafes and shops. There are several museums in Oranjestad: the Archaeological Museum with thematic exhibitions on the history of the Arark culture; Numismatic Museum – some of the coins presented in it were found in sunken ships at the bottom of the sea; Historical Museum with an excellent collection of the colonial era and pre-Columbian history of the island; A geological museum that reveals the secrets of the history of the origin of the island of Aruba. The oldest building in the city is Zoutman Fort, built in 1796 in honor of the famous Dutch Admiral.
